CEGs offer year-round opportunities for intersectional identity groups to build shared awareness around common challenges and strategies and inspire each other through individual stories.

The Lesbian CEG will be hosted by Corina Hendren (she/her), Audrey Lipps (she/her) and Deena Fidas (she/her) from Out & Equal.

Lesbian-specific spaces are vital for fostering community, visibility, and support for lesbian individuals, who often face unique challenges and erasure within broader LGBTQ+ and mainstream contexts. Historically, these spaces have dwindled, leading to the erosion of safe havens where lesbians can freely express their identities without judgment. Lesbian-specific spaces not only provide a sanctuary for socializing and solidarity but also play a crucial role in preserving the rich history and culture of the lesbian community, ensuring that their stories and identities are celebrated and remembered.

Ensuring inclusivity for lesbians in the workplace is crucial for fostering a diverse and equitable environment where all employees can thrive. Lesbians often face unique challenges, including discrimination, microaggressions, and a lack of representation in leadership positions.

It’s why safe places like Out & Equal’s Lesbian CEG are important.

Through these vital support networks, which are centered on community and open dialogue, individuals can feel seen and validated. They can tap into and build the strength that lies within to show up authentically at work, advocate for themselves and others, and thrive.
